Our Mission and Vision

Mission and Vision
The Global Ripple Effect Project's mission is to connect people with nature to improve our environment through environmental education, creating community gardens, community clean-ups, and tree plantings. We envision a healthy and sustainable environment for all. We provide the tools for communities to take action and promote our environment's health through land preservation, community clean-ups, community fruit and vegetable gardens, and more.

We demonstrate our commitment to supporting communities through our strong legacy of volunteer engagement, giving back to low-income and poor communities. Each year, we donate to shelters in hopes of providing sustainable holiday cheer.

We believe everyone should have the right to live near safe, natural outdoor spaces that are sustainable and healthy environments with access to healthy food, clean air, and water.
We aim to inspire an appreciation for improving our environment through creating community gardens, environmental education, community clean-ups, and tree plantings. We have worked alongside communities to mobilize community greening in urban and suburban environments.

Since our opening, we have continued to help communities and businesses reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation. We planted trees at the DuPont Environmental Education Center and Barbara Hicks Park and worked with multiple community gardens. Our organizational priorities are comprised of four engagement-stated pillars: creating community gardens, environmental education, community clean-ups, and tree plantings.

Who We Are

Our Roots

We are a groundbreaking environmental nonprofit that offers many sustainable initiatives. Together with partner organizations and individuals like you, we work tirelessly to diversify, educate, and unite individuals and communities to work on environmental initiatives to create an eco-friendly and sustainable future. We work with schools and organizations and partner with Malika to teach her environmental education program to students, introduce healthy food options in impoverished communities, reforest vulnerable communities, protect against biodiversity loss, end plastic pollution, transform our food and fashion systems, and encourage all to preserve and respect our environment, and more.
A few of our environmental initiatives include:
Creating urban gardens in food deserts.
Providing healthy food to low-income communities.
Tree plantings in under-resourced communities.
Community cleanups.
Sustainable job training.
Garden workshops.
ReUse Program.
Eco-Education Program and more.
Our workforce development program ensures all residents in disadvantaged communities will have the opportunity to attend environmental job training, develop skills, apply for and sustain quality employment and earn a livable wage.

We organize community clean-ups to remove pieces of trash from neighborhoods, beaches, rivers, lakes, trails, and parks — reducing waste and plastic pollution, improving habitats, and preventing harm to wildlife and humans. While ensuring every community has access to clean air and water.
We are committed to making ripples and working alongside communities to transform low-income neighborhoods into eco-friendly, healthy, sustainable communities filled with kindness while creating a vibrant place to live and thrive.
We constantly strive to make a difference and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Diversity, equity & inclusion

We embrace diversity and strive to create more equitable and inclusive communities, giving everyone the same access to opportunities and uniting communities. We do this by reducing disparities and providing communities with the tools they need to thrive.

Community Health and Wellness

One Step at a Time

We believe everyone should have access to clean air, clean water, and healthy food options. Our Community Health and Wellness Program works hand in hand with each community to ensure they have access to high-quality health and wellness services and resources. We work with low-income communities to provide healthy food options. We aim to ensure that our residents feel a sense of community.

Education

Eco-Education Program

Malika created her Eco-Education Program when she was a young child. We are honored that she teaches her program to the communities we serve. With this program, she does her best to ensure all details are easy to understand, enabling participants to incorporate what they learned into their everyday lifestyles.
The goal is to empower students by providing them with an expanded range of options. We will achieve this by partnering with schools and community organizations.
She takes students on eco-educational field trips and teaches young leaders how to live an eco-friendly, healthy, and sustainable lifestyle filled with kindness. She also introduces vegan and vegetarian options, teaches students about the 7 R's of sustainability, provides students with eco-friendly tips, reads environmental books, and more.
The benefits of her Eco-Education program are many and include:
*Students can express themselves through music, poetry, dance, arts, and crafts.
*Empowers students to be more creative and productive.
*Inspires students to think critically.
*Helps students socialize.
*Provides a fun and relaxed environment for students.
*Through arts and craft projects and firsthand experiences, this program helps improve students' coordination and fine motor skills.
*Boosts confidence.
*Increases empathy.
*Enhances brain productivity.
With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for students. With access to the right resources, students can become empowered by their abilities and confidence to fulfill their potential. Learn more about our work by getting in touch with our team today.

Malika Yates created The Global Ripple Effect Project Inc. out of her passion for teaching others worldwide how to take care of the environment. Her goals, ambitions, and inspirations have come together to form a wonderful organization. She dreamed of creating an environmental program that she could teach in school. Now she teaches her eco-education program. She travels globally, teaching students in the classroom and on eco-educational field trips firsthand how to live an eco-friendly, healthy, and sustainable lifestyle filled with kindness. She also introduces vegan and vegetarian options, teaches students about the 7 R’s of sustainability, provides students with eco-friendly tips, reads environmental books, and more. She attends community events, visits nonprofits, and numerous organizations, and teaches residents of suburban and low-income communities how to live an eco-friendly, healthy, and sustainable lifestyle filled with kindness. She also teaches both students and community members the importance of planting trees, gardening, community cleanups, and how to properly take care of the environment.

Since opening, she has become a master of her craft. She goes above and beyond to ensure everyone knows how to take care of the environment properly. Explore the rest of the site to learn more about what The Global Ripple Effect Project Inc. offers and how you can get involved.
